The Job
Voces Unidas is seeking a digital organizer who is highly motivated, creative and committed to social justice. Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, the digital organizer helps implement digital strategy at the policy, electoral and organizing level, grow social media presence and engagement, and support and build campaigns and online organizing efforts.
This position can be 100% remote, working from anywhere in Colorado for 2021 due to COVID-19. Long-term, the Digital Organizer would be based in Pitkin, Garfield or Eagle counties post 2021. If out of the region, travel of 1-3 times a month may be required.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain robust presence on social media, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
Craft engaging social media posts, cultivate community within Facebook groups, and explore how new social media platforms and features (FB messenger, Instagram, etc) can be used for organizing.
Create compelling graphics and videos for social posts, online ads, and email blasts to take action
Execute digital campaign strategies to grow online supporters and engagement of our online supporters in taking action
In collaboration with other staff, use social media, email, online advertising and other digital tools to develop online-to-offline organizing programs
In collaboration with development staff, strengthen online fundraising
Develop strategies aimed at targeting, building and retaining membership segments based on issue, campaign, demographic and other variables to deepen activism and engagement among members with specific interests
Track, understand and apply analytics and metrics to measure effectiveness of tools and strategies
Maintain high quality and timely web site presence; ensure ease of navigation, message consistency, relevance and engagement opportunities for visitors
Help supporters share their stories through videos, images, writing, press interviews, storytelling trainings, etc.
Train and advise staff on digital communications strategy and social media best practices
Track technology trends and apply needed upgrades and innovations to ensure platforms and campaigns remain current
Build relationships and strengthen partnerships with ally organizations and community members to support priorities
Participate in evaluation of digital content and campaign metrics to guide and inform future content and strategies as part of a culture of continuous, data driven learning and evaluation
Manage data and tracking systems
Perform other duties as required to support the work of the organization as a whole.
Required Job Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Alignment to Voces Unidas’ mission;
Passionate about community organizing and movement-building;
1-3 years of experience creating high-quality digital content and campaigns to move people to take action;
Experience creating compelling graphics and videos for social media using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools;
Prior experience using and/or willingness to learn how to use digital organizing and campaign tools: CRMs (i.e. ActionNetwork, Salesforce, Salsa Labs, etc); texting (i.e. Hustle, ThruText, etc); relational organizing (i.e OutreachCircle, Reach, Empower, etc); online advocacy (i.e. Salsa Engage, Phone2Action, etc); and story collection (Soapboxx, Flipgrid).
Experience with HTML coding and CSS;
Excellent project management and time management skills: ability both rapidly respond to day-to-day needs while conceiving and implementing bigger projects over time;
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects;
Excellent organizational skills including superior attention to detail;
Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required; and
Bilingual in Spanish and English languages is preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary range is between $45,000 to $60,000, based on relevant experience
