Position
The Manager of Programs/Lead Organizer reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for creating, implementing, evaluating and managing all advocacy and civic engagement programs. She/he is also responsible for providing critical thought-partnership to the Voces Unidas leadership team as the organization works to strategically maximize our impact in the communities we serve.
The Manager of Programs/Lead Organizer position requires a proven, forward-thinking, and dynamic individual to provide proactive leadership and vision in developing new, innovative programs. This includes having excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills, along with relationship building and an understanding of the political contexts that shape and frame policy. In addition, the Manager of Programs/Lead Organizer should have a clear understanding and empathy for the challenges faced by the resource- and capacity- limited communities, a firm grasp of community-building, and knowledge of economic and social determinants of community inequities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute Voces Unidas’ advocacy and civic engagement programs
Oversee recruitment, hiring, and retention of program staff, contractors and consultants
Ensure strategic goals are met through maintaining existing partnerships and creating new partnerships
Develop program goals and ensure timely and reliable tracking and analysis of metrics toward those goals
Create, oversee, and implement program budgets
Participate in yearly performance assessments of program staff, goal setting, and support professional development on an ongoing basis
Serve as an active member of the leadership team by providing regular and timely programmatic updates across all programs to ensure open knowledge-building and resource sharing. This includes helping to develop a management system and supporting processes
Build and maintain strong relationships with partners including funders, other nonprofit organizations, and community leaders, continually working to involve partners in programming and find an alignment of goals
Required Job Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
3-5+ years of diverse experience in organizing, advocacy or program management
Experience in moving programs from concept to delivery and evaluation
Experience with programming related to leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement
Demonstrated excellence in organizational and communication skills
Creativity, innovation, independence, and self-direction
Ability to identify opportunities, seek new approaches and follow through
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary range is between $50,000 to $60,000, based on experience
