The Civic Leader Education & Advocacy Program (CLEAP) in Mexico City, organized by Voces Unidas de las Montañas, is an educational and advocacy program that creates opportunities for grassroots Latino leaders in Colorado to learn about the intersectionality of U.S. and Mexican public policies and explore the current and historical role advocacy has played in past and current U.S. and Mexican policies impacting immigrants, migrants and the Mexican diaspora living in the U.S.
The cost of the program is $500. In addition, program participants are responsible for airfare, hotel and any visa requirements. Hotel and airfare can range between $1,300 to $1,600.
DACA leaders are invited to apply if they can secure advance parole. Voces Unidas does offer scholarships to cover travel and immigration-related costs to those leaders who need assistance.
