Voces Unidas de las Montañas (VUM) is seeking outgoing individuals to conduct part-time phone banking and canvassing in the Roaring Fork, Eagle River and The Colorado River valleys.
Candidates must be able to work weekends and evenings, and should possess high-energy, good communication skills, and be dedicated to the values and mission of VUM. Please visit www.vocesunidas.org to obtain further background information on the organization.
No prior experience is required.
Educate and engage voters and community members in person (door knocking) and through phone canvassing.
Complete daily and weekly reports on progress and meet all goals and metrics.
Participate and complete all required training.
Must be bilingual (Spanish/English).
Must have reliable transportation.
Must have excellent communication and people skills; must be comfortable speaking with strangers and people from different backgrounds about policy issues.
Ability to work with other staff and canvassers in a team.
Ability to work under deadlines.
Experience in phone or door-to-door canvassing is a plus but not required.
Political campaign experience is a plus but not required.
Hours & Hourly Rate
Canvassers can work up to 20 hours on most weeks. Hours will vary by week.
The position pays $20/hour or more if you have canvassing experience.
Must be available from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at least three weekdays and at least one weekend day, either or both Saturdays and Sundays (4 hours max per day on weekends).
We will reimburse mileage for door-to-door canvassing.
In the field and from the office (Glenwood). Some phone banking can be done from home.
This is a temporary position from August through Election Day. This position will be processed through a local employment agency.
