A new poll commissioned by Voces Unidas Action Fund reveals Democrat Elizabeth Velasco holding a significant 12-point lead over Republican Caleb Waller in the race for Colorado's 57th House District seat. The poll was conducted by Keating Research among 500 likely voters in November 2024 and showed Velasco leading with 52% support compared to Waller's 40%.
Velasco's commanding lead is bolstered by strong support from key demographic groups (younger voters ages 18-49, +50 voters, women, white voters, and Latino voters), including a 21-point lead with unaffiliated voters, an essential segment for victory in the district.
"The poll results highlight the continued strong support for Rep. Elizabeth Velasco’s leadership," said Alex Sánchez, CEO of Voces Unidas Action Fund. "Rep. Velasco has consistently demonstrated her commitment to representing the diverse voices of our community and addressing the issues that matter most to working families. Her strong lead in this poll is a testament to her effective advocacy and the trust she has built with voters across all demographics.”
Keating Research conducted the poll on behalf of Voces Unidas Action Fund between August 25-29, 2024. The sample of 500 likely voters was carefully distributed to reflect party registration, gender, age, region, and ethnicity representative of the November 2024 electorate. The margin of error for this poll is plus or minus 4.4%.
Voces Unidas Action Fund, based in Glenwood Springs, is a community-led, 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that holds elected officials accountable, lobbies for progressive policy solutions, and supports progressive candidates for public office. The Action Fund has endorsed Velasco’s reelection and was a key supporter in her 2022 election.
House District 57 includes the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys, from Aspen to Parachute. Velasco won the seat in 2022 after beating then-State Representative Perry Will by almost 8 points (53.9% Velasco, 46.1% Will).
