Tuesday marked the start of CLEAP 2025 policy and planning sessions in Mexico City. The day included multiple sessions designed to educate and inspire the participants as they prepare to spend Wednesday meeting with policymakers at the Cámara de Diputados and Senado de la República.

Tuesday, April 8 recap:

Participants started their second day in Mexico with a series of policy discussions in preparation for their scheduled visits with lawmakers on Wednesday. Topics ranged from the impacts of climate change and trade on forced migration to an examination of the role of international policies in local contexts, while offering additional opportunity for an exchange of ideas about leadership and other timely issues for debate.

Group members took a deeper dive into planning their legislative meetings during a two-hour session in the afternoon, closing the day with a wrap-up session at the Hilton Business Center where participants shared perspectives on the goals and challenges ahead. Armed with knowledge and curiosity, the group is feeling well prepared for another busy day at Mexico’s Congreso de la Unión tomorrow.
