Voces Unidas Announces 2026 Líderes Award Winners

Voces Unidas will honor eight leaders from across Colorado at our 2026 Líderes Dinner Celebration on Saturday, October 3, at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.

The annual celebration recognizes Latino leaders and allies whose leadership, service and advocacy are strengthening communities across Western Colorado.

2026 Legislator of the Year: Rep. Elizabeth Velasco

Our highest legislative honor goes to Rep. Elizabeth Velasco, recognizing her partnership with rural Latino communities and her work to turn community priorities into legislation.

2026 Legislative Champions: Rep. Yara Zokaie and Sen. Iman Jodeh

Rep. Yara Zokaie and Sen. Iman Jodeh are being recognized as Legislative Champions after earning A+ grades on the 2026 Voces Unidas Legislative Scorecard and demonstrating exceptional leadership on issues important to rural Latinos.

2026 Education Champions: José Luis Chávez, Jasmin Ramirez and Consuelo Redhorse

José Luis Chávez, Jasmin Ramirez and Consuelo Redhorse are being honored for breaking barriers as elected school board members and pushing for the reforms and accountability Latino children need and deserve.

2026 Community Champions: Naomi Peña and Adrianna Romero

Naomi Peña and Adrianna Romero are being recognized as Community Champions for their everyday service, leadership and impact in their communities.

The Líderes Dinner Celebration will bring together community leaders, advocates, elected officials, nonprofit partners and supporters from across Western Colorado for dinner and celebration.
