Voces Unidas Action Fund exists to build real political power so our rural communities can win on the issues that shape everyday life. That power doesn’t come from statements or promises. It comes from electing better leaders and holding them accountable once they’re in office.

The 2025 election cycle showed what’s possible when we invest in local races. Across the Western Slope and mountain region, voters elected school board members who are focused on results, not distractions. Our endorsed school board candidates won at historic rates because families want schools that prepare students for the future, not boards consumed by politics that don’t belong in classrooms.

Winning elections is only the first step. What matters next is whether leaders deliver. That’s why Voces Unidas Action Fund releases legislative scorecards for state legislators to track who is showing up for working families and who is not. We are bringing that same accountability to education by issuing report cards for school districts to measure whether leaders are taking bold action to eliminate achievement gaps. These tools are about outcomes, not appearances.

The data tells a hard truth. Year after year, polling through the Colorado Latino Agenda shows that Latino voters consistently prioritize the cost of living, wages, housing, health care, and education. Families are struggling to keep up, and they expect leaders to act with urgency. They are paying attention to who delivers and who does not.

Who holds power locally and at the state level makes all the difference. School boards shape student success. City councils influence housing and economic opportunity. State legislators decide whether wages rise, health care becomes more affordable, and communities are prepared for climate impacts. When the wrong people hold those seats, communities fall behind.

That’s why 2026 matters. In the next election, voters will decide who is elected to Congress, who becomes governor, who holds every constitutional state office, and who controls the state legislature. Those outcomes will determine whether we make real progress on education, housing, wages, health care, and climate resilience, or whether our communities are left waiting once again.
